Una Pearl (Farley) Courtney of Aurora, Illinois-the daughter of Amos Roy (A.R.) Farley and Alice (Kersey) Farley was born July 6, 1930 in Topeka Kansas and went home to be with the Lord in Aurora, Illinois on March 24, 2021 at age 90. Her parents were early Pioneer Pentecostal pastors in the Assemblies of God Denomination. The family lived in several communities in Kansas during her childhood. In 1946, they moved to Wichita, where Una completed High School before going to Central Bible College. Music was always a big part of Una’s life. She learned her style by sitting near other pianists at church camps watching their fingers. Throughout the years of her ministry, she blessed many people by playing and singing, leading the choir and collaborated on a musical based on the movie “It’s a Wonderful Life”. During the last 2 years of her life, she loved playing the piano for the services at Jennings Terrace, where she lived. She is survived by her daughter, Vicky & Jim Haley, of Broken Arrow OK, son, Jim Duncan & Janie McMahan, of Austin TX, and son, Kevin & Katie Keagle, of Aurora IL., 8 grandchildren, 7 greatgrandchildren, a sister Amy (Farley) Strang and a host of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Robert L. Courtney, her parents, sister Rachel (Farley) Perry and brother Forrest L. Farley. Due to COVID-19, there will be a private family service. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you donate to Jennings Terrace at 275 S. Lasalle St. Aurora IL 60505. Jennings Terrace has been a loving caretaker of Mom during her final months here on earth.
