On Friday September 8, 2023, Sherrel Walborn age 76, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ following a long illness. She was surrounded by her loving family and was finally at peace after many long years of failing health.
Sherrel accepted Jesus Christ as her Savior while in junior high school and studied at college to become a teacher to missionaries’ children. She loved her late husband Bernie and their two daughters very much but loved her Lord even more. She had a servant’s heart and always put the needs of others before her own. Her hobbies and talents include sewing clothes for her family, knitting and crocheting, cooking, gardening, and so many other things. Most of all, she loved spending time with her grandkids. They brought her so much joy and happiness.
She is survived by her two daughters, Rebecca K Johnson (Kevin) of Yorkville; Sara L Snyder (Brent) of Montgomery; her sister Mrs. Claudyne Hill and four grandchildren; Hannah Synder, Luke Synder, Ruth Johnson, and Rachel Johnson; several nieces and nephews, and great nieces.
Sherrel was preceded in death by her Husband Bernie Walborn, her parents Peter and Bonnie Keeton and her brother-in-law John Hill. She touched many lives in her time on earth and will be truly missed by many.
Visitation will be held at Valley Baptist Church 2480 Wolf Rd Oswego, IL 60543 on Tuesday September 12, 2023 from 4:30 PM until time of service at 6:00 PM
In Lieu of flowers donations in Sherrel’s name can be made to the HHT Foundation in hopes of finding a cure for the rare blood disease she suffered with over forty years. https://curehht.org/ways-to-donate/tribute .
