Sheri (née McCarthy) Sadler, 53, of Oswego, Illinois, passed away on April 3, 2026, in Englewood, Florida.
Born in Evergreen Park, Illinois, to JoAnne and the late Dennis McCarthy, Sheri lived a life rooted in family, faith, and service to others. She was a proud graduate of St. Bernadette School, Maria High School, and Washburne Culinary Academy, where she began nurturing the talent that would become one of her lifelong passions. Sheri went on to build a dynamic career as a chef and business owner, but her most cherished roles were those of devoted mother and beloved aunt.
Sheri was known for her vibrant love of life and unwavering devotion to her family, her faith, and her country. She was a true and loyal friend—fierce in her support, generous with her wisdom, and always ready to listen. Her quick wit, warm spirit, and remarkable ability to bring people together made her unforgettable to all who knew her. An award-winning culinary talent, Sheri found great joy in cooking and hosting, creating memorable gatherings that left everyone smiling and feeling at home.
She was a proud member of the American Legion Auxiliary Marne Post 13 and a dedicated supporter of the Chicago Police Memorial Foundation and U.S. veteran programs. Sheri’s compassionate and approachable nature made her a trusted confidant and guiding presence for her many nieces, nephews, family members, and friends.
Sheri leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories in the hearts of her husband, Mike; her daughters, Madeline and Brianna; her mother, JoAnne; her siblings, Shannon (Kevin) Slattery, Scott (the late Andrea) McCarthy, and Stephanie (James) Kendzior; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, Dennis McCarthy.
Sheri’s life was a beautiful reflection of love, strength, and generosity. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all whose lives she touched.
