Roland “Andy” Novak, 75, of Ladson, SC, passed away on Saturday, December 5, 2020. He was born in Aurora, IL on July 21, 1945 to the late Frank and Alyce (Hougham) Novak.
As a young man, Roland served in the United States Air Force. He returned home, worked at Austin Western, and finished his lifelong work at Mercy Center Hospital in Aurora. He retired after many years of service. He repaired just about anything and everything. He was known to his friends by the nickname “Hoss”. He loved to ride his Harley and help his friends in need with any project. His boisterous humor will be missed by all that loved him.
Survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Stella Seabaugh Novak; daughter Sherrie Southard and husband Lonnie; daughter Laura Slodkowski and husband Tom; sister Mary Alice Hansel; sister-in-law Gracie Novak; brother-in-law David Seabaugh and wife Luella; grandchildren Nichole Jakupovic and husband Haris, Rhett Morse, Kate Cunningham, Victoria Southard, and Lillie Slodkowski; great-grandchildren Jax and Eleanor Jakupovic; and many nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Alyce (Hougham) Novak; in-laws, Travis and Marie Seabaugh; his brother-in-law, George “Doug” Hansel; and his brother, Frank Novak.
Due to current restrictions, celebration of life will be reserved for his next heavenly birthday. There will be a small burial service at River Hills Memorial Park 1650 S. River St., Batavia, IL 60510 on Thursday, December 10 at noon.
