Patricia Jean Sherman
Forty year Westchester and former Cicero Resident, 77, died peacefully August 24, 2018 in Elmhurst Hospital.
Ms. Sherman requested no memorial service anda private interment.
A gradute of Elmhurst University, Ms. Sherman was a 42 year mechanical engineer at Western Electric Company and AT&T form which she retired.
A talented athlete, she excelled in Softball as a cather, shortstop and first baseman.
Drafted when she was only 14years old, in 1950's and early 1960's Ms. Sherman played professional women's softball for the Chicago Bluebirds and the Andy Frain Usherettes. Her teams competed all over the Midwest.
In later years, Ms.Sherman enjoyed the computer, bowling, fishing, camping and horseracing and casino wagering.
She is preceded in death by her partner and dear friend Elaine Zajicek. The two began their long relationship as professional women's softball teamates.
Survivors include her sister Carrie Shutta, nieces Kari Fencl, Lori Lunsford, Sherry (Doug) Richard, nephew John Derus and many great nieces and nephews.
