Marian Schelli Obituary

Marian Veronica Schelli, a beacon of kindness and faith, passed away peacefully on July 17, 2025, at the age of 79 in Bolingbrook, IL. Born in Chicago, IL, on September 23, 1945, Marian was a woman whose life was marked by her loving nature and unwavering commitment to her family and faith.

Marian was the heart and soul of her family, a loving wife to the late Ronald Schelli Sr., to whom she was married for 50 cherished years. Marian is survived by her  brother Edward Pionke and a supportive sister-in-law to Carol and the late William Schelli. Her role as a mother was one she held above all else, guiding her children Ronald (Anna) Schelli, Julie (Bob) Owens, and Joseph Schelli with gentle grace and profound wisdom.

Her love blossomed into her role as a grandmother, where she embraced her grandchildren Tony (Suzy) Schelli, Riley Owens, and Kylie Owens with open arms and an open heart. Marian's legacy continued to grow with the birth of her great-grandchildren, Dominic and Evelyn, who brought her immense joy and pride. She was also a fond aunt to numerous nieces and nephews, each of whom held a special place in her heart.

Marian's early life was grounded in her education, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Nursing. Her calling to care for others led her to a fulfilling career as a Registered Nurse, where she touched the lives of countless individuals with her compassion and professionalism.

Her faith was the cornerstone of her existence, and she lived it out fervently as a devoted Christian and active member of the Council of Catholic Women for 40 years. Marian's presence was a source of strength and inspiration within her religious community, and her faith-filled spirit resonated with all who knew her.

Those who had the privilege of knowing Marian remember her as the embodiment of love and kindness. She navigated life's challenges with grace and always found strength in her faith. Marian's nurturing presence will be deeply missed, yet her spirit will continue to guide and comfort her family and friends.

Marian was preceded in death by her parents, John and Marian Pionke, and her brother and sister-in-law, Angelo and Dorothy Caduto, all of whom she held dear throughout her life.

Marian Veronica Schelli's journey on earth may have come to a close, but the impact she made on the lives she touched will endure forever. Her memory will be carried forward in the stories shared, the lessons taught, and the love she gave so freely. As we bid farewell to this extraordinary woman, we do so with the knowledge that her light will never truly fade.
