Maria Teresa Palao, 68, of Bolingbrook, IL, passed away peacefully on April 13, 2021.
Known by many as "Teresa," "Teresita," "Tere," or "Mariate," she was the loving wife of 30+ years to Percy F. Palao who preceded her in death in 2008.
The daughter of Rafael and Teresa Lloreda, she immigrated to the United States from Colombia, South America as a teenager. She is survived by her brothers Rafael (Ana Maria) Lloreda, Jorge (Yanira) Lloreda, and her nieces, nephew, and cousins who remain in Colombia.
With deep love and gratitude for her family, Maria was the cherished mother of Teresa Liliana (Chuck) Dattilo, Maria Mercedes Carpintero, Billy Carpintero, Elizabeth (Sonny) Trosper, and Patricia (Jon-Logan) Reynolds. She was also the treasured grandmother to Jessica Cline, Adriana Patricia (Andrew Noah Haines) Trosper, Liliana Marie Carpintero, Carlos Andres (Amanda) Carpintero, Rafael Daniel Carpintero, and Joshua Harrison Reynolds as well as the great grandmother of Adelina Julissa Carpintero.
Maria worked for Moldtronics, Inc. in Downers Grove, IL for over 31 years where she cultivated long lasting friendships with many along the way.
She will be remembered for her love of the Lord and His Word, her profound love and constant prayers for her family and friends, her appreciation of good food, her listening ear and wise advice, and her genuine, heart-warming laughter.
A Celebration of Life and Faith will be held Saturday, May 29, 2021 at 1pm at Highpoint Church in Wheaton.
