Lucille "Lou" Rericha, a beacon of kindness, creativity, and adventurous spirit, passed away peacefully on January 13, 2025, at the age of 80 in Quincy, Illinois. Born on March 4, 1944, in Chicago, Illinois, Lucille's life was a tapestry of cherished moments, woven with love, laughter, and an unwavering commitment to her family and community.
She was the wife of the late James Anthony Rericha. She was a loving sister to Arlene, Raymond, Frank, Mary Ann, and Carol, and her warmth and guidance were the cornerstones of their family. The cherished mother to Tim (Sue), Susan, Steven (Carrie), Cindy (Stacy), and Kathleen, Lucille instilled in her children the values of compassion, curiosity, and the importance of family ties. Her role as a devoted grandmother to Loryn, Katie (Ben), Shannon, Edyth, Jamie, Jayden, and Samantha, and great-grandmother to James and Tobias, brought her immeasurable joy. Her presence was a gift to her nieces, nephews, and all who had the pleasure of being part of her extended family.
Lucille's legacy is marked by her remarkable 40-plus-year tenure with the Scouting community in Bolingbrook, Illinois, where she served with Troop 75 and Troop 32. Her dedication to shaping young lives was evident in her tireless efforts and unwavering enthusiasm. Lucille's historic achievement as the second woman to receive the Order of the Arrow level of Vigil reflected her pioneering spirit and her commitment to break barriers for future generations.
Lucille worked as a receptionist for nearly 25 years at Smith Barney/Morgan Stanley. She was very proud of her career accomplishments. Her company made it known that she was highly regarded and valued immensely for her dedication.
Those who knew Lucille will remember her as the embodiment of kindness, always ready with a comforting word or a helping hand. Her creative mind found expression in countless projects and initiatives that brought beauty and joy to those around her. Lucille's adventurous soul led her to embrace life's journey with an open heart, inspiring others to explore the world with the same zest and wonder.

Visitation will be held at St. Dominic's Catholic Church - 440 East Briarcliff Road, Bolingbrook, IL 60440 on Saturday January 25, 2025, from 1PM until time of Funeral Mass at 2PM with interment to follow at Hillcrest Cemetery, Bolingbrook, IL
