John S. Davis III, aged 68, of Bolingbrook, Illinois, passed away peacefully on August 16, 2025, surrounded by his loving family and friends. Born on March 14, 1957, in Chicago, Illinois, John was a man whose life was marked by his loving nature, friendly demeanor, and courageous spirit.

A devoted husband, John is survived by his cherished wife, Cynthia M. Blunt Davis, with whom he shared a life full of joy and companionship. His legacy of love continues through his daughter, Brittany Bernetta Davis, and he took great pride in his role as a devoted grandfather to Mr. Michael Genesis Grant. John's warm presence will also be deeply missed by his dear sisters, Pamela Davis, Denise Davis, and Cynthia White. A treasured brother-in-law, he brought laughter and kindness into the lives of Minnie Henderson, Elizabeth Bell, Ruby Williams, Shirley Williams, Hurneitha Addison, James Blunt, Leroy Blunt, and Yusuf Azeez. His role as a fond uncle to numerous nieces and nephews further showcased his capacity for love and guidance. Along with being a proud and loving Godfather of 7.

John proudly served his country as a veteran of the United States Army during the Korean conflict. His courage and dedication to duty were hallmarks of his character, values that he carried with him throughout his life. After his military service, John continued to impact on his community through his involvement with various associations, where his friendly nature made him an invaluable member and a friend to many.

Spirituality played a significant role in John's life, guiding his actions and imbuing him with a sense of purpose that he shared generously with those around him. His spiritual beliefs were a source of comfort and strength, not only for him but for all who were touched by his grace and wisdom.

John's capacity for love was boundless, as evidenced by the deep bonds he formed with family and friends alike.
