Janice A Blevins

Janice A. Blevins, age 83, of St. Charles, IL passed away May 27, 2020.  She was born October 3, 1936, and she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Hazel (Larson) Van Leirsburg.

Her surviving family members include brother Jack (Jeanie) Van Leirsburg, sister Sue (Ken) Ronzheimer, daughter Diane Vlach, son David (Lisa) Vlach, granddaughter Ashley (Nick) Barstatis, granddaughter Kristin Vlach and great-grandson David Barstatis.

Janice graduated as Salutatorian of her class at St. Charles High School in 1954 and then attended Illinois State Normal University where she graduated with academic honors in 1958. After teaching briefly in Colorado and California, she returned to St. Charles, Illinois and began teaching in Batavia in 1964 where she taught fifth grade at the Alice Gustafson School for 33 years.  She retired from teaching in 1997 and continued to live in St. Charles until her death.

She was a lifelong Chicago sports team fan.

She never lost her love for teaching. She touched the lives of many and will be greatly missed.

Janice will have a private service and burial.
