JAMES A. JOHNSON, 81
James (Jim) Allan Johnson, 81, of Chicago, IL, passed away peacefully from natural causes on Friday, December 16, 2016 at Meadowbrook Manor of Naperville, IL. Born on September 13, 1935, in Chicago, IL to Nina and Oscar Johnson, he lived most of his life in Lynwood, Glenwood, Sandwich and Naperville, IL. James graduated from Fenger High School in 1952
James was a loving and passionate man who enjoyed many things such as gardening, baseball, playing golf and spending time with his family. In his younger days, James played baseball for the Baltimore Orioles Farm System where he was a pitcher. He was a lifelong Chicago Cubs fan and enjoyed watching and celebrating their World Series win in 2016. After his baseball career, James worked as a Salesman for Olivetti and as an Industrial Chemical salesman for Hysan Corporation. He enjoyed traveling to visit his children, playing golf, watching baseball, gardening and enjoying a nice meal.
James is survived by his children Sandra Tartol (Rich), Scot Johnson (Kathy) and Kari Katzmar (Billy) and his grandchildren Rebecca Tartol, Grace Tartol, Jadyn Johnson, Jackson Katzmar and Claetyn Johnson. He is preceeded in death by his parents Oscar and Nina Johnson and his brother, Bob.
The family will hold a Memorial Service on Saturday, January 21, 2017 from 11:00AM CT until 4:00 PM at the Oswego Presbyterian Church, 1976 Route 25, Oswego, IL 60543. Memorial donations may be made in James’ name to Angels for Hospice Charities, 325 W. Huron St., Suite 200, Chicago, IL 60654.
