James Huizinga, age 66, of Downers Grove, Illinois, entered the presence of his Lord and Savior early Monday morning, November 26, 2018, with family by his side.
James was the loving husband of Shella. He was the son of Alice and the late Howard Huizinga.
Loving brother to Carol (Paul) Loth and Don (Janet).
Cherished father of Steve (Anna), David, Dan (Melissa), Jason (Emily), and Bethanie (fiancée George).
Devoted grandfather to Justin, Alexis, Tyler, Matthew, Joanna, Andrew, Finley, and Paxton.
Loving brother-in-law to Sandy (Dan) Rogers and the late Leonard (Margie) Fries. Fond uncle of Tiffany (Danny), Megan (John), Aileen, Peter, Brittany (Daniel), Courtney, Glenn, Sarah. Great uncle to Camden, Aubrey, Emma, and Jesse.
Visitation will be held at Marquette Manor Baptist Church on Friday, November 30 from 5:30-8:30 p.m. The funeral will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, preceded by a brief visitation at 10:30 for those unable to attend Friday.
James was a faithful member at Marquette Manor Baptist Church where he served as deacon and Sunday School teacher for many years.
He served on the Executive Board of Maranatha Baptist University in Watertown, Wisconsin, and the Advisory Board of Camp Joy in Whitewater, Wisconsin. He also volunteered his services at Pacific Garden Mission in Chicago.
Throughout his life, he showered those around him with acts of selfless love and kindness and prayed fervently for friends and family. Jim was known for his godliness, optimism, humility, wisdom, kindness, generosity, encouragement, patience, and willingness to help anyone in need.
