James Donald Depke

James Donald “Jimmy D” Depke, 62, of Downers Grove, IL. passed away on June 1, 2020 due to complications from hip surgery. Jim was a 29 year devoted partner and Husband to Camillia Depke; loving and proud Father to Daniel, 15 and Sarah, 13, whom Jim considered to be his greatest blessings. He is preceded in death by his Mother Patricia (Szczypkowski) and sister Lynne (Franklin); brother to Gregory, Michael, and Christine (Wiiken); and Uncle to 9 nieces and nephews. Jim loved the performing arts. During his years at Reavis High School in Burbank, IL, Jim was an active member of the theater department and a four year thespian.  Jim, who enjoyed the finer things in life, “loved to entertain and be entertained.” Jim had a variety of career experiences, and as a proud Series 7 licensed stock broker, he spent a majority of his career working in private equity. Jim lived in Chicago, IL and Dallas, TX, and was a practicing SGI Buddhist for 35 years. Jim was a man with many gifts and loved to have a good time. His thoughtfulness of others contributed to his decision to be an organ donor. Services are pending.
