Gwendolyn D. Cox

Gwendolyn Diane Cox of Aurora passed away peacefully on November 19, 2018.

She was born on December 13, 1953 in Kankakee, daughter of Cecil Johnson and Ada Lee (Cox) Johnson.

She is survived by her 2 loving sons, Aaron Cox and Eric Cox, her grandson, Jayden, as well as her 7 siblings: Janet Brown of Murphysboro, IL, Denice Cox, Vincent Johnson of Aurora, Weldon Johnson of Madison, MN, Carolyn Phillips of Apopka, FL, Judy Taylor of North Aurora and Brian Johnson of Austin, TX.

Gwen graduated from East Aurora High in 1971 and worked for Merchants Bank for many years. 

She also spent several years serving the Lord as a faithful member of Main Baptist Church.

A memorial gathering will take place on November 30th at Main Baptist on E. Galena Blvd. from 4-8pm.

A 2nd gathering will be held on December 1st at noon followed by a memorial service and repass, also at Main.
