Edward S. Kamibayashiyama

Edward Shizo “Ed” Kamibayshiyama, 82, walked joyfully into the arms of his Lord and Savior on Sunday morning March 5, 2017. Beloved husband for 52 years of Flora (nee Fabros). Devoted father of Esther(David) Lennard, Philip(Mila), Gabriel(Tylene), Edgar(Marlyn) and Julian(Sheryl). Cherished grandfather of Timothy, Jonathan, Autumn, Joy, Mark, Lauren, Rayna, Zackary, Paul, Brianne, Jordan, Dylan and Willow.

He is preceded in death by his parents and his two sisters, Hazel Mikami and Betty Feliciano both of Hawaii. Ed was born in Culver City, CA and grew up in Kapaa, Kauai, Hawaii.

Ed came to Chicago in 1957 and attended Moody Bible Institute where he studied Bible. He met his future wife Flora here and was married in Chicago in 1964.

Ed loved sports and was very athletic playing tennis, softball and swimming in his youth; But even more than his love of sports, Edward loved attending church. He was a longtime active member of First Baptist Church of Cicero where he served as deacon, Sunday school superintendent, church financial secretary and song leader. In later years, Ed became a faithful member of Marquette Manor Baptist Church of Downers Grove where he was well known for his love of the Lord his joy in his salvation, his faithful attendance and his fervent amens!
