Donald Lester Anthony, a man of laughter and boundless kindness, passed away peacefully on February 4, 2026, in Bolingbrook, IL. Born on May 11, 1945, in Chicago, IL, Donald's life was a testament to the power of love, humor, and service. As the cherished son of the late Miles and Pauline Anthony, he was a beacon of light for his family and all who knew him.
Donald, affectionately known as (Duck) by his friends, was a loving brother to Wims Brewer, Floyd Chambers, Anna Brown, Joyce K. Phillips, (Edward Phillips), and Marsha Anthony to which all preceded him in death. His role as the fond uncle to Michael Brown, Derrick Brown, and Brian Brown, Bradley Keith Phillips, Dawn Anthony whom also preceded him in death, he leaves to mourn Janice Anthony, Nijela Phillips-Walls, (Lawrence) Paul Anthony, Joyce Anthony, Crystal Anthony, Kyle Smith (Crystal) and a host of cousins, great nieces, nephews and family members, he took to heart, filling their lives with joy and laughter.
A patriot through and through, Donald proudly served his country in the United States Army, a period of his life that shaped his character and instilled in him a deep sense of duty and honor. His military service was a point of pride, not only for him but for all who loved him, and it is with great respect that he will receive Military Honors as he is laid to rest at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, IL.
Donald's faith was as steadfast as his spirit. A devout Christian, he walked in his beliefs with both conviction and an open heart, embodying the teachings of kindness and love throughout his journey.
