Dina (Cioccolanti) DiGangi, 84, of Oswego, Illinois, passed away peacefully with her daughters and family by her side.
She was the loving wife of Mariano DiGangi of River Grove, Illinois, who preceded her in death in 2005.
Loving sister of the late Vilma (Carlo) Longhi of Chicago; Delis (Sam) LaPlaca of Wonder Lake; and the late John (Debbi) Cioccolanti of Lombard.
Dina was also preceded in death by her parents, Igino and Ines Cioccolanti.
Cherished mother of Toni (Frank) Tomasello of Addison, Enes (Edward) Hettinger of Oswego, and Julie (Dennis) Anderson of Dunlap, Illinois.
Devoted grandmother of Matthew (Sarah) and Michael (Tammi) Hettinger; Frank (Michelle), Anthony and Joe Tomasello; and Eric and Thomas Anderson. And great-grandmother of Adrian, Vincent and Victoria Rose Tomasello; and Kayla, Lauren, Jacob and Lucy Hettinger.
Dina worked at Tingstol in Chicago until her retirement in 1987.
She was born in Arcevia, Italy and after her marriage to Mariano the couple emigrated to the United States in 1958. The couple settled in the west side neighborhood of Chicago and started their family. Their three daughters had seven sons, who made their father one very happy grandfather.
Dina proudly wore her title as family matriarch, freely imparting her love and wisdom.
Internment, which is private, will be Tuesday, Aug. 25, 2020, at All Saints Cemetery in Des Plaines, Il.
