Obituary

Debbie C Swift was born on June 23, 1954 in Memphis, Tennessee to John and Erline Lewis, who preceded her in death. She went to her Heavenly Father on December 27, 2022.

She was the fourth child of eight children. She came to a saving knowledge of our Lord and Savoir Jesus Christ as a very young girl . After graduating from Farragut High School in Chicago, Illinois. She went on to successfully graduate from Wilbur Wright College in Chicago, Illinois with her Associate ‘s Degree in Business.

She worked for the University of Illinois, Physical Plant, Routing Department in Chicago, Illinois and retired after 37 Years of service.

Her favorite hobbies were helping others by lending a helping hand, always treating others with dignity and respect, always providing others with positive advice such as the famous news columnist “Dear Abby” , and always sharing a positive expression, kind words or simply giving one a loveable and caring hug. Debbie could light up a room when she walked in it. Her presence was simply “Extraordinary.”

She was the definition of “love”. Her other favorite hobby was dancing. She was lovingly and affectionately known by many as “Happy Feet”. Her favorite scripture was Psalm 46:10 “Be still and know that I am God.”

She leaves to cherish her memories, her fiancé, Forrest White (aka DeAngelo) and her precious dog, Dusty; her brothers and sisters, John(Debra), Maureen(Steve), Greer(Tyrone), Sharee (preceded her in death), Gwen (50 Cent), Keith(Tiffany) and Leslie(Martez); and a host of uncles, aunts, cousins and friends.

Debbie was blessed to be the fond aunt of John Jr., Tim, Donnie, Bone, Brittany, Breana, Amber, Kelly and Blake; great nephews, Quan, Tim Jr. Isiah, Britton and Trey; and great nieces, Valerie, Mercedes, Logan, Tayen and Makaelyn.
