David Leigh Bode

It is with great sadness that the family of David L. Bode announces his passing on July 11, 2018 at the age of 72.

David was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on April 15, 1946. He was the only child of Lenore and Ernest Bode.

After a tour in the Air Force, David moved to Illinois and spent his career working for the Canadian Pacific Railroad.

But David’s real passion was music. He was often seen with a bass guitar and a harmonica around his neck.

Whether he was humming a tune or telling a joke, David would always tell you that he was, “Powerful Good.”

David will be remembered by Sheila, his loving wife of 24 years. David leaves behind four children, Shelly (Ron) Cosico, Mike, Lee, and John; and three step-children, Brian (Kelly) Duewel, Jeff (Lisa) Duewel and Susan Duewel. David will also be fondly remembered by his eight grandchildren, Riley, Ella, Paige, Berrie, Riley, Tyler, Ava and Brayden.

David was preceded in death by his parents.

A short service will take place Thursday, July 19, 2018 at 3pm in the River Hills Memorial Park Chapel. Burial will follow at River Hills Memorial Park.
