Betty Jean (Nixon) Schleper

Betty Jean (Nixon) Schleper, 98, died on Wednesday, September 18, 2024 at Edwards Elmhurst Hospital, Naperville, IL with her family by her side.

Born January 8, 1926 in Galva IL.  Daughter of William Nixon and Fern (Powell) Nixon.  On December 24, 1944 she married Robert W. Gross of Alton, IL.  He preceded her in death on April 18, 1972.  She married Clemmens (Clem) Schleper on October 19, 1982.  He preceded her in death July 30, 2008.

Betty Worked for Emmons Printing Shop in Alton for many years, until retirement. She was a member of St. Ambrose Church for approx. 70 years.

She was currently living with her daughter, Cheryl, in Bolingbrook, IL.   Betty is survived by her daughter Cheryl (Gross) Hickerson and her husband John of Bolingbrook, IL ; three Grandchildren and 6 Great Grandchildren.

Mass will be said for Betty at St. Ambrose Church October 4th at 10:00am.  Burial will follow at Saint Patrick Cemetery in Godfrey.  Memorials may be sent to St. Jude Children's research Hospital.
