Peggy Lorig Obituary

With profound sadness we announce the passing, on September 4th, 2019, of Peggy Anne Lorig (née Hungerford), beloved wife, loving mother, devoted grandmother, and friend to all whose lives she touched. Peggy is survived by her husband Robert Scott Lorig, daughter Josette Lorig, son Daryl Swanson, son-in-law Brian Rejack, and daughter-in-law Amanda Swanson; her grandchildren Victoria and Maximus Swanson, brother Raymond Hungerford, and step-mother Diane Hungerford, and mother in law Therese Lorig. She is the cherished daughter of the late Harold “Tex” Hungerford and Josephine Hungerford (née Labriola), and fond sister of the late Patricia Rietow. Peggy also leaves behind a number of nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, and countless friends.

Peggy was born and raised in Blue Island, IL and was a long-time resident of both Lockport and Orland Park, IL. Stylish, lively, welcoming, and kind, Peggy brought people together and brightened the lives of everyone who knew her.

In lieu of a service, her ashes will be scattered by her immediate family at the Chapel of The Holy Cross in Sedona, AZ, Peggy’s favorite place.
